A Different Wolf
Cork Opera House, June 2019

A Different Wolf is new dance opera production in collaboration with Belfast-based music theatre company Dumbworld (John Mcllduff and Brian Irvine).

An investigation of fear in contemporary society where we all live with our own form of wolf, A Different Wolf is the fear that we all might succumb to becoming either the hunter or the prey. Alongside a professional cast of four dancers, three singers and six musicians, we are collaborating with three choirs and communities in Cork to give form and voice to that fear, that different wolf.

‘Fear isn't so difficult to understand. Nothing has changed since Little Red Riding Hood faced the big bad wolf. What frightens us today is exactly the same sort of thing that frightened us yesterday. It's just a different wolf.’ Alfred Hitchcock
